Summer Highlights

Summer is waning.
Ouch, that hurts.
Not gonna lie.  I'm ready to start summer over again.
Playing mega catch up here - took a vacation from this little corner partly because our computer has been a mess and mostly because I'm busy just living.

Ten of us.  Eight needing a lot of me.
Many heart swells all the time.
So here goes some random thoughts and moments from our summer.

Our summer started with a very fun and relaxing beach trip.
Not everyone could come - this is one of those growing pains of having older children.
We are entering a new phase of life and trying to embrace now.

Summer was full.  Grown kids were coming and going from an assortment of jobs.
We had a trip to the farm in Kansas to visit family.
Ed went on an extended canoe trip to the Boundary Waters.
We swam, biked, played ultimate, read and enjoyed late nights.

Our cat had five kittens in the spring and we kept this little fellow, Oscar.

Father's day was a lot of fun.  We have an amazing daddy!

We grilled a lot this summer but this meal was a favorite.

We had an engagement!
Our oldest son is marrying the sweetest girl and we are so happy she is joining our family.

There is a still-in-progress summer project.
We will be having some lovely fall fires out back!

Everyone is growing up so fast.
Our youngest little firecracker is turning four soon.

As always, we celebrated the 4th with zest from morning to night!

Michael and our dog, Bailey, have been mowing buddies all summer.

Here's to peace in the coming days of school and scheduled living.
